Well, this is embarrassing…

Dear Reader,

Okay. Remember last month, when we wrote to tell you that we were pushing back the release date for The Florist and the Fighter?

We’re doing it again.

We know! We’ve never pushed back a release date twice before. But life has been lifing—the entire McGavin household came down with a rotten bug recently, and we’ve also had to deal with a few personal issues that have taken time away from writing.

On top of that, The Florist and the Fighter is the longest story we’ve ever written—and the one that’s asked the most of us.

Briony and Ryan will now be coming to you on 23 October.

We know this is disappointing, but we hope you understand that we’re only asking for more time because we care so much about getting this book right.

Time for Another Snippet 💐🥊

We couldn’t very well ask for another month of your patience and give you nothing in return. So, here’s a new extract for you.

Last time, you watched Briony march into Ryan’s world: two in the morning, flannel pyjamas, rescue dog tucked under one arm, and a noise complaint to deliver.

In this extract, Ryan enters Briony’s world. It’s the morning after the party, and Briony is behind the counter of her flower shop on next to no sleep—and in no mood whatsoever for her new neighbour.

Sorry, but the extract was for newsletter subscribers only.

A quick note: the book is available at a promotional price during the pre-order period. It’s currently $3.99 in the US but will be increasing to $4.99 after launch. There are similar discounts in other countries. So, if you’re planning on picking it up anyway, it’s worth pre-ordering it for the saving!

Wunderbar News for the Bannock Boys

Here’s a nice piece of news: the True Scotsman books are currently being published in German by Literary Queens.

The Highland Kiss and The Highland Fling are already out, with The Highland Crush following later this month.

If you read in German, or know someone who does, check out the Echte Schotten series.

Scotland in the News

Blacksmithing has returned to Gretna Green after 150 years. If you’ve read The Highland Kiss, you may remember that Gretna Green is where runaway couples were married by blacksmiths in times past.

A man drove a 1,700-mile round trip to make 52 phone calls from a phone box on a Scottish island—and saved it from being taken away.

A fisherman caught two extremely rare bright-orange lobsters within a three-day period off Skye. Douglas (our fisherman from Catching Feelings) would be jealous! Actually, they’re not far off his hair colour…

xx,

Amy and Gavin
