As One Story Ends, Another Begins

We can’t believe the True Scotsman series has come to an end. Writing these books has taken us on a wonderful journey—not just as writers but also as a couple, and we’re so grateful for your support and love for Bannock and its people. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🫶💕

But don’t worry, we’re already planning series two, and we’ll be sharing details of more swoony Scots and their sassy lassies very soon. 😍

A Writer’s Retreat

To mark the completion of the series, we gifted ourselves a night away at the Lochnell Arms in Connel, a charming village nestled in Argyll and Bute. This family-run hotel, with its tartan carpets and cosy snug reminiscent of the Bannock Hotel, felt like the perfect setting for our little celebration.

The weather was somewhat wet and wild (despite having been glorious just days earlier!), but we had a hearty dinner and a lovely evening in at the hotel.

Here is Daisy behaving like a good girl, hoping to get a titbit off of Amy.

The next day, we ventured into Oban, a charming coastal town known as the “Gateway to the Isles”. Amy was delighted to come across a parade of navy men marching down the streets—very fitting for a romance author! 🫡❤️‍🔥

On the drive home we stopped at Kilchurn Castle, a striking ruined fortress perched on the shore of Loch Awe.

Scotland in the News

Three generations from one family played in a competitive football match on an Orkney island.

A wedding in Aberdeen took place with almost 100 bridesmaids.

A film telling the story of old friends trekking through the Highlands will be coming out on May 31.

xx,

Amy and Gavin
