Dear Reader,
Picture this: a surly ferry captain with obsessive routines (à la Captain von Trapp) meets a sunshine American who’s fled New York after losing everything. Throw in a crack in the curtains and some accidental flashing, and you’ve got the kind of grumpy/sunshine tension hot enough to boil the North Sea.🔥🌊
Captain of My Heart is the first book in our brand-new Scottish Single Dad series, and we’re right now putting the finishing touches to it. One of the best parts of writing as a wife-and-husband team? Our brainstorming sessions somehow lead to bonus spicy scenes, including one where Lachlan wears nothing but his captain’s hat… at Blair’s insistence. 🤭
Exclusive Extract Alert! 🚨
As a special treat just for you, here’s the very first extract from the book.
Our American heroine, Blair, has only just arrived in the Highland seaside town of Ardmara. She pauses to peek through the window of her late grandmother’s cottage. Enter one grumpy Highlander, who doesn’t take kindly to strangers snooping around his town…
Sorry, but the extract was for newsletter subscribers only.
From Paris with Love
As some of you know, Amy is half-French, so any excuse to head to France is a good one. A few weeks ago we were in Paris soaking up the culture (and eating all the pastries 🥐). Naturally, we couldn’t resist a gool ol’ smooch in front of the Eiffel Tower.
We also caught the Tour de France finale at the Champs-Élysées, where Scotland’s own cyclist Oscar Onley came an impressive fourth overall. He definitely “gave it laldy” in the city of love! 🚴
Scotland in the News
An anonymous artist has been placing spoof signs around Glasgow.
Glasgow becomes New York for the filming of the new Spider-man film!
A Scottish castle goes on sale for a mere £750,000.
xx,
Amy and Gavin
