Blurb Reveal and the Big 4-0

Dear Reader,

We are delighted to reveal the blurb for Catching Feelings, the final book in our Scottish Single Dads series. And you, our lovely newsletter subscribers, get to see it first!

Here is what I know about my feelings for Douglas Fraser. They are silly. Hopeless. Entirely one-sided. And I’ve been carrying them around for so long now that I barely question them anymore.

We both live in the small Scottish seaside town of Ardmara, but Douglas has never really seen me. Not properly. To him, I’m just the librarian who helps his twins find books and pretends not to notice when they wreak havoc in the children’s section.

He has no idea I notice everything about him. The breadth of his shoulders. The roughness of his hands. The scent of salt and sea that clings to him after a day on the water.

Then I run a hire boat aground on some rocks, and Douglas has to fish me out of the situation, along with what remains of my dignity.

After that, he starts noticing me. Not as Ellie from the library, not as part of the background, but as a woman. A woman he watches with an intensity that heats my skin and scrambles my thoughts.

For the first time, I let myself hope.

But hope is dangerous when the man you want has spent years putting everyone else first. He’s made duty and self-sacrifice a way of life.

Is he even capable of choosing himself, let alone me?

Douglas and Ellie’s story will now be launching on April 30, two weeks later than previously planned.

We know a delay is never ideal, but this is only a small one, and it means we can make sure this book is the absolute best it can be.

Not only is Catching Feelings the final book in the Scottish Single Dads series, it’s also the angstiest and steamiest of the three. (It’s always the quiet ones, eh?) And all that angst and steam deserves a little extra polishing time.

The good news is that it’s still arriving this month, and we can’t wait for you to read it.

The Big 4-0 🎂

A few weeks ago, Gavin turned forty! Amy and Mini McGavin planned a surprise day out, starting with lunch at Eusebi’s, an Italian restaurant in Glasgow’s West End, followed by a trip to the bookshop—because of course—then a visit to a gamer shop because yes, just like Maisie and Jamie in The Highland Game, Gavin enjoys a good fantasy gaming session.

And to top it all off, the day ended at a cat café, which was, naturally, the purrfect way to finish things off. 🐱 Here are snaps of two of the furry hosts:

The next day, the family all came over to the McGavin’s abode for a meal, followed by multiple games of The Traitors. Our version is, admittedly, slightly more chaotic than the popular TV show, largely because certain family members occasionally forget whether they’re a Traitor or a Faithful, which leads to a lot of hilarious confusion.

Scotland in the News

An error resulted in a shop in Orkney ordering 38,000 bananas, almost double the population of the islands.

Watch this funny moment a Scottish taxi driver is told his daughter is engaged and forgets he has a passenger in his cab.

A stunning Scottish castle has been used as a filming location for a Hollywood movie.

xx,

Amy and Gavin
